Building Diverse Teams: Understanding Formal Evaluations and Self-Evaluations through the DEI Lens

Join us for Part 3 of our three-part series on effective feedback with Dr. Arin Reeves! Effective formal feedback is critical to development, growth, and advancement of anyone's career. Yet, without intentional focus on ensuring effective formal feedback for all, differences between people can sometimes create unintentional variances in people receive, provide, and integrate feedback. In this session, we will explore the research illustrating these differences, practical suggestions for both feedback providers and feedback receivers on how to neutralize these differences when providing formal feedback processes, such as written evaluations or self-evaluations, and how to receive and implement the feedback.

Learning Objectives:

  • Increased understanding of formal feedback.
  • Increased understanding of the impact of implicit bias on the formal feedback process.
  • Increased ability to to eliminate bias from the formal feedback process and create a more effective and timely feedback system for all involved.
  • Increased ability to ask effective questions about the formal feedback they receive.
  • Skillset to follow up as necessary in order to implement communicated feedback for career development.

This program is open to attorneys and legal professionals at TCDIP Member Organizations. TCDIP will apply for elimination of bias credit in Minnesota.
