On November 17, join a WILD Conversation to learn more about reparations and the ground-breaking work being done in St. Paul.

Reparations redress the injustices and violence of slavery, racial discrimination, and resulting inequities in generational wealth, economic mobility, and educational opportunity for descendants of Chattel Slavery in the United States. From July 2021 to June 2022, The St. Paul City Council’s Legislative Advisory Committee on Reparations listened to community input about reparations at the city level. From this feedback, the committee proposed an ordinance to establish a commission that would implement reparations in the city of St. Paul. The City Council accepted the Committee’s report on June 15, 2022 via Resolution 22-928.

To read more about the committee and additional background, download the Committee’s Presentation for the St. Paul City Council.
