From Anxiety to Agency: Centering Equity and Reducing Bias in the Midst of Rapid Change

As we face the tremendous challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are asked to navigate changes few of us could imagine even one month ago. From health challenges, new ways of working, and school closures to managing the anxiety brought on by social distancing and the 24 hour news cycle, it’s tempting to narrow our lens and focus only on what seems “most essential.” For those in the legal profession, this might mean putting a hold on our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts.

But now is not the time to put our DEI efforts on the back burner. Rather, it’s critical to bring a DEI lens to our “new normal” of working in – and through – this pandemic. Without this lens, we run the risk of contributing to the inequity that becomes exposed in any crisis.

In this webinar, we will address the particular ways microaggressions and implicit bias show up as we work from home, as well as strategies we can employ to create a more equitable work-from-home environment. We will explore how our ideas of work, parenting, stress management, and indices of productivity can be improved using a DEI lens. Additionally, we will explore how we can use emotional intelligence to manage the grief, fear, and anxiety that threaten our focus, our work product, our teams, and our overall well-being.

Join us for this interactive webinar to learn more about maintaining effective and inclusive work strategies during this time.
