2026 TCDIP Leadership Council
Target Audience: Senior Leaders and Managing Partners at TCDIP Member Organizations
TCDIP Leadership Council meetings are limited to General Counsel and law firm Managing Partners, or the most senior leader in your Twin Cities office. The Leadership Council provides a venue for senior leaders from TCDIP Members to convene and take action to strengthen the efforts of our Members to build opportunity and community for attorneys of color and all who seek to advance an inclusive profession. The Leadership Council serves in an advisory role to our Board of Directors and provides focused, strategic advice from our most senior leaders.
At our 2026 Leadership Council Meeting, Dr. Arin Reeves will join us to discuss ideas outlined in her new book Ethical Influence Under Pressure.
The book explores how pressure influences perception, constrains possibilities, reinforces assumptions, and increases the temptation to accept tradeoffs that may be neither necessary nor inevitable.
The framework centers on four questions to help assess influence:
-
Agency: Does our influence preserve meaningful choice, or does it rely on manipulation, coercion, or compliance?
-
Belonging: Does our influence create connection and shared humanity, or does it depend upon division, exclusion, and “us versus them” thinking?
Together, these questions provide a way to evaluate influence beyond effectiveness alone. They help us examine not only whether influence achieved its intended outcome, but also what it preserved, what it compromised, and what conditions it created in the process.
Date: Friday, October 2 Time: 8:30 - 10:00am Location: 800 LaSalle Ave, Minneapolis MN 55402
